In a Tennessee Titans victory in Cleveland, Chris Johnson has his first strong performance of the season, rushing for 101 yards on 23 carries. It took three weeks, but Johnson finally looked like he was ready to play some football after worrying about his contract all offseason. Along with Johnson the Titans defense and quarterback Matt Hasselbeck all had excellent games against the Browns, in a 31 to 13 win.
Through the first four games of the season, it has become clear that Matt Hasselbeck still has some fuel in the tank, and the Titans defense is nothing to scoff at. Hasselbeck threw for three more touchdowns against Cleveland, making it eight on the year for him. Even with the loss of Kenny Britt, Hasselbeck was able to use the weapons around him effectively, and it did not hurt that he had a running game behind him for the first time this season.
Tennessee’s defense has played great all year, and Sunday was no exception. They gave up a bunch of yards passing to McCoy, but only allowed the Browns to get into the end zone one time. The Titan’s defense was also able to pressure McCoy, sacking him four times and forcing him to throw an interception that Jordan Babineaux returned for a touchdown. The Titans are keeping pace with the Texans for first in the AFC South, and next week they head to Pittsburgh in hopes of knocking off the struggling Steelers.
