First place for the AFC South was on the line last Sunday in Tennessee, unfortunately for Titans fans their team got demolished by the Texans, who looked like a team on a mission this year. Tennessee was coming off their bye week, but it looked like they had been off for six months and were in no condition to play football.
The Titans were out gained by the Texans 518 yards to 148, with Chris Johnson, their star running back continuing to play with no desire and ability, gaining only 18 yards on 10 carries. Chris Johnson held out for a contract this off season and has performed so poorly that he has warranted a demotion in the depth chart.
After Tennessee forced Houston to punt on their first two possessions the Texans proceeded to score on six of their next seven possessions. The Texans now look like they will the team to beat in the AFC South, down the stretch.
The Titans get to face the hapless Colts next week, which should allow them to get back on track, but this loss is definitely going to be an obstacle in their continued push to make the playoffs.
