Tennessee Hammers Carolina 30-3

For the first time this season, rookie quarterback Cam Newton was made a fool at the hand of the Tennessee Titans, who needed this win in the worst way to keep pace with the rest of the AFC in the wild card race. Another first happened in this game, and that is Chris Johnson actually looked like a real running back for once this season, which will definitely be  plus for the Titans moving forward.

Tennessee started the scoring off with Marc Mariani returning a punt 79 yards for a touchdown. The Titans were able to add another 10 points before the half and went into the locker room leading 17-0. In the second half the Titans’ defense continued to play great holding the Panthers to under 300 yards and forcing two turnovers overall against Carolina.

If Matt Hasselbeck continues to play reasonably well, and Chris Johnson builds on his 130 yard performance, the Titans will have a punchers chance of making the postseason. Next week Tennessee travels to Atlanta to take on the Falcons. That game will have equal importance for both squads and should make for a great game. If you are betting take the points with the Titans.
